Divide FRAM VAOD in vertical bins
FRAM will continue monitor the atmosphere in the direction where the (sub) array is pointing. However it can only provide the overall Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD). We need the LIDAR data in order to break AOD in height bins, and assign each bin with the correct optical depth. In the case when we have only a slow component (clear skies, semi-stable aerosol layer or overcast sky with optically thin clouds) it is a rather trivial task. However the situation becomes more complicated if there are fast components that, for example, getting caught by FRAM but missed by LIDAR (or vice versa).
