Estimate wavelength dependence of atmospheric optical depth
Once issue is done and we have an altitude profile of AOD, we need to estimate its wavelength dependence. The dependence depends on the nature of the aerosols. For clouds we can assume a flat dependence (clouds are white afterall...). Calima consists of rather large particles with non-spherical shape. Thus Mie theory is not applicable. In first order we might consider a flat wavelength dependence here or alternative we can fit the data from the AERONET photometer stationed at ORM.
For all other aerosols (maritime, anthropogenic) we can use an Angstrom coefficient of 1.2 (To be confirmed).
